The Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, On Gun-Free Zones
WACO, Texas (CNN) -- Zero tolerance, huh? Gun-free zones, huh? Try this on for size: Columbine gun-free zone, New York City pizza shop gun-free zone, Luby's Cafeteria gun-free zone, Amish school in Pennsylvania gun-free zone and now Virginia Tech gun-free zone.
Anybody see what the evil Brady Campaign and other anti-gun cults have created? I personally have zero tolerance for evil and denial. And America had best wake up real fast that the brain-dead celebration of unarmed helplessness will get you killed every time, and I've about had enough of it.
Amen Ted. VT was a gun-free zone, all of those students followed the law, except one. So what exactly is the rationale of those proclaiming for more gun-free zones? Criminals do not follow the law, if they did, they wouldn't be criminals.
The 2nd amendment or violent movies/video games are not the causes of these shootings. Poor parenting and America becoming a country of enablers is the cause. Millions of kids watch violent movies and play violent video games and the percentage of those committing atrocities is probably like .0001%. The poor parenting comes from not paying attention to your children.
For instance, in the Columbine killings, how can you, as a parent, not look in your child's room and not notice anything wrong. Your child has a sawed off shotgun, gun powder and other assorted nonsense and you don't think anything is wrong? Don't use the excuse that "they were insane". If you, as a parent, think there is something wrong with your child, it is up to you to take them to a doctor. It's better for them to get their feelings hurt, than for them to kill themselves or others.
Lack of personal/ parental responsibility is no longer criticized, but accepted. It's always someone else's fault, never your own. If a child is caught drinking or doing drugs at the school, the parents blame the school for violating their child's rights. It's become ridiculous. As for those students who threaten schools in the days following the VT shootings, it will be interesting to note the behavior of their parents. How many of those parents will apologize for the actions of their child and/or force their child to apologize? On the other hand, how many of those parents will say the schools and/or police overreacted and it was just a lack of good judgement? I'm guessing the majority will be the latter.
