BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition forces killed three terrorists and detained 11 suspects Wednesday and Thursday during operations to disrupt terrorist networks in central Iraq.

Coalition forces conducted an operation west of Tarmiyah Thursday, targeting an alleged al-Qaeda in Iraq leader operating in the Fallujah area. During the course of operations, Coalition forces observed four individuals emplacing objects believed to be improvised explosive devices into the ground near the target area. West of Ramadi, Coalition forces captured a wanted individual during operations to disrupt foreign terrorist facilitation networks in the region. The suspect is believed to be an al-Qaeda in Iraq member involved in weapons facilitation in the city and a direct associate of the city’s former terrorist leader, who was captured during a Coalition forces operation Oct. 9. The individual is also believed to have ties to several foreign terrorist and weapons facilitators operating in Iraq. In addition to the targeted individual, the ground force detained one other suspect during the operation.

Near Bayji, Coalition forces captured a wanted individual believed to be an associate of numerous al-Qaeda in Iraq members involved in facilitating financial and logistics support for terrorist operations. In addition to the targeted individual, Coalition forces detained one other suspect.

The individuals were detained without incident, and one vehicle was safely destroyed on site to prevent further use by terrorists.

During two coordinated operations southwest of Tarmiyah, Coalition forces captured a wanted individual and three additional suspects. The wanted individual is believed to be a direct associate of the al-Qaeda in Iraq northern belt network leader. During the course of operations, Coalition forces observed the suspect leave the target area on a motorcycle. When Coalition forces arrived at his location, he was detained without incident, and the motorcycle was destroyed to prevent further use for terrorist activities. The three additional suspects were detained during a separation operation in the city, while the ground force was targeting another northern belt terrorist.

Westboro Baptist Church Sued By Father Of Marine Killed In Iraq

If you don't know about the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), that's great. It means they're not as effective as they think they are. In reality, they are nothing more than a group of inbred nutjobs. They have a history of demonstrating at the funerals of troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They wave posters at the funerals that say things like, "Thank God for IED's" and "Thank God for dead soldiers".

I hope the father of that Marine wins the suit and sucks every last penny out of the pockets of those lunatics. What would be even better is a class-action lawsuit with all the families that have had funerals picketed by the WBC getting money.

The family of a Marine killed in Iraq has sued a Baptist church for picketing their son's funeral and is turning to the Internet to drum up support.

Albert Snyder, the father of fallen Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, took the stand this week in the Baltimore trial against the Westboro Baptist Church and testified that protesters waving signs at Matthew's burial made him nauseous. He'd wanted a private service for his son.

"They turned this funeral into a media circus and they wanted to hurt my family," Snyder said on the stand Wednesday. "They wanted their message heard and they didn't care who they stepped over. My son should have been buried with dignity, not with a bunch of clowns outside."

The Snyder family's suit against the church — whose members have picketed the funerals of military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, claiming the deaths are punishment for the country's tolerance of homosexuality — could cost close to $100,000, the law firm representing them said. That's why Albert Snyder is asking for the community's help on the Web site www.matthewsnyder.org.

 ***UPDATE 11/01/07 11:57PM***

The Snyder family wins $10.9M from the WBC. Personally, I don't think it's enough.

Illegals Caught Stealing Food & Water From Calif. Fire Evacuees

These useless animals should be deported...to the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. It's quite possible that illegals started these fires. It's becoming a more common practice for illegals to start forest fires in order to divert attention from their illegal activity (border crossing or drug trafficking).

Six undocumented Mexican immigrants were arrested today by U.S. Border Patrol agents at Qualcomm Stadium, after a report that they were stealing food and water meant for evacuees, according to spokesman Damon Foreman.

San Diego police responded to a call about alleged theft from the evacuation center and encountered six people in a van who didn't speak English and didn't have California driver's licenses, Foreman said. The police officers called the Border Patrol, who arrived at the stadium and made the arrests, he said. Foreman said the immigrants admitted they were Mexican citizens and that they were stealing.

 ***UPDATE 10/26/07 1:26AM***

Sure enough, an illegal from Guatemala was arrested for starting a fire in the San Fernando Valley hillside

Near Barrett Junction, east of San Diego, the fires wiped out a major drug and illegal immigrant route.

Election Poll

I had been using Pajamas Media's poll widget for quite a while. However; due to Ron Paulians spamming polls, they decided to drop the "second tier" candidates. Those candidates were Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, and L. Ron Paul. Being that I am a supporter of Duncan Hunter, you can imagine how displeased I was that I now had a poll on my blog that didn't include my candidate. So I removed the poll.

I decided today to make my own poll. It doesn't include Democrats or Ron Paul. If you were planning to vote for either, I don't care what you think.

So, take a gander at my poll at the top of the page.

While we're on the subject of polls, there is a post over at Free Republic asking, "Who would you vote for if you were not afraid that your candidate might not win?" About 95% of them answered...Duncan Hunter.

What's the problem here? If you vote your conscience instead of who you're told to vote for, things might be better.

Iraqi Special Operations Forces detain two suspected terrorist operatives, kill one

BAGHDAD – Iraqi Special Operation Forces, advised by U.S. Special Forces, detained two officials of Jaysh al-Mahdi’s al Habibiyah Office, who are accused of conducting criminal activity despite Muqtada al-Sadr’s request to cease such activity. The individuals were detained during an intelligence-driven raid Oct. 21 in New Baghdad.

One of the detained terrorists, the al Habibiyah’s office director is believed to be the commander of three extremist companies and leads a group of 50 terrorist cell members. His group is allegedly responsible for terrorizing local Iraqi citizens in al Habibiyah, al-Baladiyat and Baghdad al-Jadida.

He is also suspected of supplying weapons, including a truckload of Katyusha rockets, to terrorists and conducting multiple mortar and improvised explosive device attacks against Iraqi and Coalition Forces.

In one terrorist attack in September his group killed 20 innocent citizens. During a separate attack on a residential compound last month, his group allegedly robbed residents of their money and valuables and raped five young girls.

The second detained terrorist, who is the head of the political department in al-Habibiyah Office, is believed to lead 10 terrorist cell members responsible for terrorizing local citizens and attacking Iraqi and Coalition Forces.

In a terrorist attack on a civilian neighborhood last summer, his cell allegedly evicted residents, stole their money and occupied their homes. 50% Of Voters Hate Hillary

Should anyone be surprised at this? Except, of course, those Socialists that support her.

Hillary Clinton may be the Democratic Party's 2008 presidential front-runner but she also tops the list when voters are asked for whom they would never, ever cast a ballot, a poll out Monday found.

Fully 50 percent of US voters say that when it comes to Clinton, she can campaign all she likes but there is no way in the world she can win their support, with her negative rating up slightly from 46 percent in March, the Zogby poll said.

Older voters were the most hostile to the attorney and former first lady-turned US senator, who is seeking to become the first woman US president. Fifty-nine percent of those over 65 said they would never vote for Clinton, according to the survey which ranked leading Democratic and Republican hopefuls.

Israeli Muslim Cleric Say Israel To Come Under Sharia Law

I wonder how long it will take for the Mossad to pay a visit to this cleric because of his "prophecy"?

A leading Israeli Arab Muslim cleric said at the weekend that the Jewish state will very soon cease to exist and the whole of the country will come under Sharia (strict Islamic) law as another piece in the puzzle to reconstituting the Islamic Caliphate.

In an interview with a local Arabic-language newspaper, Sheikh Kamal Khatib, deputy head of northern Israel's Islamic Movement, insisted that the world is "on the threshold of a new era. The future belongs to Islam and the Muslims."

Khatib said that in preparation for the coming Islamic takeover, Muslims who hold Israeli citizenship like himself should begin to actively rebel against the state by refusing to cooperate with and forming alternatives to the Israeli authorities.

Iran Accuses U.S., Israel Of Manufacturing Genetic Weapons

The lunacy of these people is scary. Not only because they fear "genetic weapons", but because they are close to going nuclear.

An Iranian official here on Monday said that the Untied States, assisted by Israel, is seeking to create a genetic and molecular bank to manufacture new types of unconventional weapons.

Addressing an international seminar on 'The Consequences of the Use of Chemical Weapons against Iran', Head of the Foundation for the Protection of the Values of the Sacred Defense General Mir Feysal Bagherzadeh said that the US, in collaboration with the Zionist regime of Israel, is forming a bank of the molecules and genes of the different world nations and peoples in pursuit of its hostile goals.

"This is not done in pursuit of humanitarian goals, rather they are seeking to manufacture a weapon which could kill specific peoples in a limited geographical area," he stressed.

The General further pointed out that the move should be considered as a case of genocide, "because they intend to massacre specific peoples and ethnicities" with the help of this weapon.

He said a number of US experts are running activities and researches in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the same line.

The official also stated that during the recent crash of a Thai plane, the US and Israeli experts were looking for the corpses of Iranian nationals in a bid to provide for their needed genes.

"The US and Israel are seeking to manufacture a new generation of weapons in an effort to immunize themselves and annihilate other nations and peoples," he reiterated.

U.S. May Delay Missile Defense Sites In Europe

...Until it has "definitive proof" of a missile threat from Iran?!

This pandering to the Russians will not accomplish anything. They do not want the United States to "meddle" in any of the former soviet bloc countries. Russia still considers these countries their territory. Poland and the Czech Republic have agreed to host the missile defense sites, we should address any concerns of those countries and let the Russians cry in the corner.

The United States might delay activating its proposed missile defense sites in Europe until it has "definitive proof" of a missile threat from Iran, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday.

At a news conference after meeting Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, Gates said this was a proposal to the Russians — who strongly oppose U.S. missile defense — that has yet to be worked out in detail.

"We would consider tying together activation of the sites in Poland and the Czech Republic with definitive proof of the threat — in other words, Iranian missile testing and so on," Gates said with Topolanek at his side.

Bin Laden Audio Released To Al-Jazeera

More voices from beyond the grave/cave/cave grave.

Osama bin Laden scolded his al-Qaida followers in Iraq and other insurgents Monday, saying they have "been lax" for failing to overcome fanatical tribal loyalties and unite in the fight against U.S. troops.

The message of his new audiotape reflected the growing disarray among Iraq's Sunni Arab insurgents and bin Laden's client group in the country, both of which are facing heavy U.S. military pressure and an uprising among Sunni tribesmen.

In the brief tape played on Al-Jazeera television, the terrorist leader urged militants to "beware of division ... The Muslim world is waiting for you to gather under one banner."

He used the word "ta'assub" — "fanaticism" — to chastise insurgents for putting their allegiance to tribe or radical organization above the larger fight to overcome American forces.

While the authenticity of the tape could not be verified immediately, the voice resembled that of bin Laden in previous messages. U.S. officials in Washington said analysts were still studying the tape. Al-Jazeera did not say how it got the tape, which was bin Laden's third this year.

"My mujahedeen brothers in Iraq, you are a people worthy of praise and flattery. You've done well to carry out a glorious duty by fighting the enemy. But some of you have lagged behind in carrying out another glorious duty, which is to unite as one — as God wants," bin Laden said.

He warned followers "against hypocritical enemies who are infiltrating your ranks to create sedition among mujahedeen groups."

A total of three IEDs targeting a CF patrol were detonated prior to the helicopters arriving. The patrol also took fire from machine guns and an anti-tank grenade launcher.

Upon arrival to the scene, the Quick Reaction Force engaged the target, killing two extremists.

UPDATE: Coalition forces positively identify terrorist killed in recent raid

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A terrorist killed in Baqubah Friday has been positively identified as Thamir Aziz Abbas Ashuri.

During an operation south of Baqubah, Coalition forces targeted Aziz for his role as an al-Qaeda in Iraq improvised explosive device cell leader. Reports indicate he led a group of an estimated 250 terrorists, whom he directed on emplacing IEDs and conducting attacks against Iraq and Coalition forces. He was also believed to act as a judge for an illegal terrorist court system in the area.

As the ground force cleared the target building, they discovered a woman in a room and directed her to get down. Aziz fired shots at the ground force from a corner of that room, they returned fire and killed him. The woman was not harmed during the engagement and one other suspect was detained.

Coalition forces recently conducted numerous other successful operations in Baqubah, including an Oct. 16 raid where Coalition forces captured a wanted associate of an al-Qaeda in Iraq senior leader in the al-Hadid region, a known terrorist stronghold. In addition to the targeted individual, the ground force detained one suspected terrorist.

Concerned Local Citizens round up caches, improve security

FORWARD OPERATING BASE HAMMER, Iraq – Concerned Local Citizens from the village of Al Arafia delivered a large collection of munitions to Combat Outpost Cashe Oct.16.

The most recent delivery came as no surprise to Soldiers of Company D, 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment and elements of 3rd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, stationed at COP Cashe.

Company D helped organize the first Concerned Local Citizens program in the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team’s area of operations. Since then, the brigade has integrated CLC into missions and used their tips to capture key insurgents.

The cache was transported via CLC by truck. The cache, consisting of munitions collected throughout Al Arafia, contained two 105mm artillery shells, twelve 75mm armor piercing rounds, two improvised explosive devices, one container of homemade explosive, six 50mm and two 82mm mortar rounds, one 200-pound bomb and one unidentifiable artillery round.

CLC tips have led to the seizure of 10 caches, the discovery of 12 IEDs and the detention of 103 suspects, according to Maj. Rhett Griner, from Jonesboro, Ga., effects coordinator for 3rd HBCT.

Many citizens of Mada’in Qada – a district east of Baghdad with roughly 1.2 million citizens - have shown their support by joining the CLC Program. The 3rd HBCT has conducted numerous missions with group members either leading or providing tips.

There are more than 1,600 Concerned Local Citizens operating throughout the Qada, according to Griner. The 3rd HBCT is working with local leaders to create more groups and working with the Ministry of Iraq to eventually transition the volunteers into the Iraq Security Forces.

Coalition forces capture two wanted terrorists, detain nine suspects

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition forces captured two wanted individuals and detained nine other suspected terrorists during operations to disrupt al-Qaeda networks early Saturday in central Iraq.

Coalition forces captured two wanted individuals and three additional suspected terrorists during an operation northwest of Muqdadiyah. One of the wanted individuals is believed to be an al-Qaeda in Iraq senior leader operating in the northern Diyala area. The other wanted individual is his brother, and also a suspected associate of the terrorist network operating in the region. Intelligence gained from previous operations led Coalition forces to the target area, where they captured the brothers without incident. During the course of operations, the ground force also discovered an improvised explosive device which was safely destroyed on site.

In Bayji, Coalition forces detained six suspected terrorists during an operation targeting an associate of al-Qaeda in Iraq senior leaders. Reports indicate that the targeted individual is part of a logistics network responsible for supplying weapons and supplies to foreign terrorists. The individual is also believed to have many contacts within the southern belt terrorist network, which allegedly facilitates the movement of foreign terrorists and suicide bombers for attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces.

41,000 pounds of homemade explosives seized

TARMIYAH, Iraq – Coalition Force Soldiers discovered and destroyed one of the largest weapons caches found in the Salah ad Din Province in the last 15 months Oct. 18.

CF discovered five weapons caches which contained approximately 41,000 pounds of explosives as well as 35 projectiles west of Tarmiya.

The caches were then destroyed by EOD without any additional damage or any casualties.

The fifth cache alone contained 300 separate bags of homemade explosives, each weighing 100 lbs. The crater from the blast measured 100 feet wide, 100 feet long and 30 feet deep.

Iraqi Forces, U.S. Special Forces detain three suspected terrorists

TAJI, Iraq – Iraqi Forces, with U.S. Special Forces as advisers, detained two suspected terrorist leaders during two simultaneous intelligence-driven raids earlier this week in Northern Iraq.

Raids result in capture of suspected Al Qaeda leaders

BAGHDAD – In a series of early morning raids Oct. 20, Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers killed one and captured several other individuals who are believed to be ranking members of Al Qaeda in Iraq terrorist cells operating in Doura, a southern district in the Iraqi capital.

Soldiers assigned to Baker Company of the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment “Warriors” out of Fort Carson, Colo., but attached to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division conducted the operations in an area where extremists have attempted to impose their will on the populace.

When the troops entered the target house, one of the individuals later identified as a high-value individual began to surrender but then pulled out a pistol and shot one of the Soldiers.

The terrorist was killed in the subsequent exchange of small arms fire.

A second high-value target believed to be an AQI improvised explosive device and sniper cell leader who has terrorized the people of Doura was also arrested at the scene and has been detained for further questioning.

A separate early morning raid by MND-B troops in Doura resulted in the arrests of two additional men believed to be responsible for making IEDs used to destroy mosques in West Rashid.

ANSF and Coalition forces immediately maneuvered and engaged the enemy with small-arms, close air support and artillery fire easily repelling the initial attack.

Taliban forces attempted to reinforce their positions with additional fighters and weapons for several hours but were repeatedly neutralized by friendly forces. There were no reports of non-combatant injuries or damage to property.

Mistrial Declared In Holy Land Foundation Case

The enemy will defeat us from within. Someone competent needs to make these mooselimbs held accountable for their actions.

The biggest terror-financing trial since Sept. 11 ended in confusion Monday, with no one convicted and many acquittals thrown out after three jurors took the rare step of disputing the verdict.

Prosecutors said they would probably retry leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, as well as the organization itself, which the federal government shut down in December 2001.

Defendants and their supporters considered the outcome a victory. Outside the courthouse, jubilant family members and supporters hoisted defendant and Holy Land chief executive Shukri Abu Baker on their shoulders and cried, "God is great!"

After two months of testimony and 19 days of deliberations, the jury reached verdicts for only one of the five defendants, finding former Holy Land chairman Mohammed El-Mezain not guilty of 31 of 32 counts and deadlocking on the remaining charge.

Acquittals for two other defendants, Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh, also were read in court. But when the judge polled each juror — normally a formality — things turned chaotic, as three jurors said they disagreed with the verdicts.

U.S. District Judge A. Joe Fish sent the jury back to resolve the differences, but after about an hour he said he received a note from the jury saying 11 of the 12 felt further deliberations would not lead them to reach a unanimous decision. Then he declared a mistrial.

I received an email from CAIR (I subscribed under the name, Allah-gator) today gloating about the mistrial. Unfortunately; In my disgust, I deleted it. But luckily, the CAIR website has a copy.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called today's declaration of a mistrial in the case against the Texas-based Holy Land Foundation (HLF) Muslim charity a "stunning defeat" for the prosecution.

CAIR also said the absence of a single guilty verdict on 197 charges brought by the prosecution in the terror financing trial will help reinforce the Muslim community's faith in America's system of justice.

The jury initially brought back "not guilty" verdicts on the government's most serious charges of material support for terrorism against the five HLF officials. However, jurors were deadlocked on other charges, forcing the judge to declare the mistrial.

2 Sailors Dead, 1 Wounded In Shooting On Base In Bahrain

There's not much information available on the shooting. They seemed quick to shut down the terrorism theory or base intrusion. I would assume the only explanation is another sailor is responsible.

Two American sailors were shot dead and one was critically wounded at the U.S. navy base in Bahrain, but there were no indications of a terrorist attack, the navy said on Monday.

The shootings took place at about 5 a.m. (10:00 p.m. EDT Sunday), the navy said in a statement, adding that initial reports indicated the incident only involved U.S. military personnel.

"Two sailors were pronounced dead at the scene and the third was taken to local hospital for treatment. There are no indications of terrorism or a base intrusion," the navy said.

The navy gave no explanation for the shootings, which took place in the base's barracks, and said the names of the sailors were being withheld.

Further details were not immediately available, and an investigation was being conducted into the incident.

 ***UPDATE 10/22/07 9:30AM***

A male sailor shot and killed two female sailors. No reports yet if the male sailor shot himself, or was shot.

A U.S. Navy sailor allegedly shot and killed two female sailors early Monday in the barracks of a American military base in Bahrain, a Navy official said.

The alleged shooter, a male, was critically wounded in the shooting at the U.S. Naval Support Activity Bahrain base, said the Navy official, who was not authorized to release the information to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The official did not say if the alleged shooter shot himself or if anyone else was involved, but the Navy said the shooting was not terror related and only involved U.S. military personnel.

***UPDATE 10/22/07 5:30PM***

He shot himself after shooting the female sailors.

Fox News Republican Debate

After the fiasco that was the ALCS, I hurriedly changed the channel as to not see any Boston Red Sox celebration. I instinctively changed it to Fox News where the debate was being re-aired (I guess). I've watched about 20 minutes of it and none of the other candidates have made me question my pick for president, Duncan Hunter.

Here's my breakdown:

I did like Tancredo's slam on Giuliani about immigration, but that's Tancredo's only talking point.

Ron Paul is a freakin' nut case and should not be invited to anymore debates.

By the time Fred Thompson finished a sentence, his 90 or so seconds were up.

I don't remember a single thing Romney, McCain, Huckabee, or Giuliani said. Very inspiring, those guys.

Duncan Hunter wins by default, plus I liked his statement on mirror tariffs to make overseas production more expensive, which would keep more jobs in America, as well as more tax dollars.

Fox News Channel are Duncan Hunter haters. I tried to text my vote to Fox News as to who I thought won the debate. I kept getting a reply saying they didn't recognize my vote. Screw them.

Ugh! Tribe Loses The ALCS

They blew this game. There's no one to blame but themselves.

Go Rockies! Slaughter the Sox!

Reports indicate he led a group of approximately 250 terrorists that emplaced IEDs and conducted attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces. The terrorist acted as a judge for an illegal terrorist court system in the area. As the ground force cleared the target building, they discovered a woman in a room and directed her to get down. The ground force was then engaged by an armed man and, responding in self-defense, they returned fire and killed the terrorist, who was the targeted individual. The woman was not harmed during the engagement and one suspect was detained.

Coalition forces detained one suspected terrorist north of Bayj during an operation to further disrupt al-Qaeda in Iraq. Intelligence gained from a previous operation led the ground force to the target area. During that operation, Coalition forces captured an individual allegedly involved in the facilitation of foreign terrorists, false documentation and terrorist funds, and who is believed to have ties to Syrian-based extremists attempting to communicate with the al-Qaeda in Iraq senior leader Abu Ayyub al-Masri.

Upon entering the area late Monday, Coalition forces observed several groups of men from multiple locations gathering into positions in nearby palm groves. One group then began to maneuver toward the ground force. Perceiving hostile intent, supporting aircraft was used to suppress the threat, killing five terrorists and wounding one suspect who was subsequently detained. During operations Tuesday, time-sensitive intelligence led Coalition forces to the location of a suspected improvised explosive device cell member. The targeted man and another suspect surrendered to the ground force without incident.
