Spokesman For Toledo Mayor Receives 15 Day Suspension
The mayors' spokesman, Brian Schwartz, receives a needed vacation. 15 days off without pay. I would take that in a heartbeat if it meant not having to fabricate excuses for the mayors' idiocy.
Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner's spokesman was dealt a three-week suspension yesterday for vulgar comments spoken to a Detroit radio station producer and negative comments to a Blade columnist in the aftermath of the "Carty vs. Marines" controversy that has gripped the Finkbeiner administration.
Brian Schwartz, who has been the mayor's spokesman since June, 2006, and is paid about $80,000 annually, was suspended for 15 workdays without pay for reportedly using a vulgarity while speaking off air to a producer for WJR-AM, 760.
"What he said was unacceptable," said Bob Reinbolt, the mayor's chief of staff, who ordered the suspension.
Mr. Schwartz was talking to a producer on Monday about the possibility of the mayor appearing on a show to address his last-minute order to cancel a Marine Corps weekend-long urban warfare exercise in downtown Toledo and in some abandoned buildings.
Quote of the year given by Mr. Schwartz:
...Mr. Schwartz told a Blade columnist "It sucks to be me"...
Indeed it does Mr. Schwartz. Indeed it does.
