Al-Qaeda Announces Jihad In India

This has been going on in the Kashmir region of India for some time now.

SRINAGAR: The city police are verifying the contents of a CD distributed by an outfit claiming to be ‘al-Qaeda fil Hind’ announcing “Jehad-al-Hind”. The disk, together with a five-page transcript, was sent to several news organisations, saying 1,000-odd CDs had been distributed amongst people during Friday congregations.

The CD shows a hooded young man reading out in local accented Urdu: “When we compare the 17 years of Jehadi movement in J&K with global Islamic movements like Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Somalia, Philippines, Algeria and others, there is a striking difference. The target and objectives of the global movements are clearly a systemic change at the global level, end of borders and creation of Khilafat. The Jehad of J&K has been the victim of organised global conspiracy that made it a battle between India and Pakistan over a piece of land and fight over interests of different countries.”

In combat gear and a Kalashnikov, the man identified as Abu Ibrahim al Qasim reads it on behalf of Abu Abdul Rehamn Ansari, the so called leader of Indian al-Qaeda.

The 15.25-minutes speech ‘Paygam’ (the message) starts with excerpts from the Quran, followed by an Arabic song and a flag — globe holding a black flag with ‘Kalima’ written on it. The reader is attacking almost everybody from either side of Kashmir’s highly divided political landscape and even terms Muzaffarabad based militant alliance United Jehad Council (UJC) “worse” than Hurriyat.
