Idiots In The News-Madeleine Albright & Jimmy Carter

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said Thursday that through the war in Iraq the United States has lost its moral authority, and it will be up to the next president to restore the "goodness of American power."
"I think that Iraq is going to go down in history as the greatest disaster in American foreign policy," Albright said, with former President Jimmy Carter at her side in one of a series of "Conversations at the Carter Center."
"We have lost the element of goodness in American power, and we have lost our moral authority," she said. "The job of the next president will be to restore the goodness of American power."

Carter said all previous presidents have said the United States would go to war only if its security was endangered, but that President Bush made it clear that there is a new policy of pre-emptive war.
"That is, we're going to go to war if we think that some time in the future a nation might do something that causes our security to be in danger," the former president said.
That is a dramatic change that "has resonated all over the world," Carter said.
He said the "unwarranted invasion" of Iraq resulted in bombing that has killed tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians.
"All of that is creating a great deal of fear that the United States resorts first to the use of military power and secondly to negotiation and the pursuit of the peaceful resolution of differences," Carter said.

"To me, the single most important problem, actually, was the initial refusal of the Arabs to accept Israel's right to exist, and the subsequent use of terror and violence to change boundaries.
"There's no question, in my mind, that Israel aggravated the problem, especially by the settlements and overreaction," Albright said.

Everyone knows that Jimmy Carter was a useless president and complete idiot. But not much is mentioned of Ms. Albright. Her champagne toast and gifts to the North Korea dictator Kim Jong-il to persuade them to stop their nuclear programs worked brilliantly. The Clinton administration turned a blind eye while NK continued on and last year completed a nuclear test.
Here's some other quotes from Ms. Albright concerning Iraq that you may not see or hear.
"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." --Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998
"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." -- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999
Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it."--60 Minutes (5/12/96)
"But the evidence is strong that Iraq continues to hide
prohibited weapons and materials."--20 February 1998
"Our problem, and the world's problem,
is with Iraq's leaders. Today those leaders have a choice: they can
allow UN inspections to proceed on the world's terms, or they can
invite serious military strikes on ours."--20 February 1998
