Um...I don't even know what to think of this. If a person was trying to kill me with a knife, I surely wouldn't give him a gun.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak is considering approving a US plan to allow the transfer of weapons, protective gear and night-vision goggles for Palestinian security forces in the West Bank, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
The American request, which is expected to be officially submitted to the Defense Ministry by Lt.-Gen. Keith Dayton - the US security coordinator to Israel and the PA - in the coming days, will be one of the issues topping the agenda of Barak's meeting with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad on Wednesday.
Defense officials in Jerusalem said it was likely that Israel would approve the request, noting that it had allowed the transfer of weapons to the PA in the West Bank since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in June.

Apparently; the FBI has ruled out terrorism. Why else would someone have Iraqi currency in a car with a bomb? But who am I to question them.
The FBI is now involved in the theft of a car after it was found in Los Lunas with an explosive device and Iraqi currency inside. FBI agents say that they have ruled out terrorism.
The car was reported stolen last week. After the theft, the car’s owner was fueling his motorcycle when he spotted his stolen car.
“While he was refueling his motorcycle, low and behold, the vehicle that he had reported stolen that belongs to him happened to pull into the gas station area also,” said Los Lunas Police Captain Charles Nuanes.
The car’s owner pulled the keys out of the ignition of his stolen car and the people in the car fled.
When police arrived, they found the explosive device and less than $1,000 worth of Iraqi cash.

Have you slept with 10 guys in 2 weeks and now find that you're pregnant? You probably haven't a clue as to who the father is. And guys, is there something about your new baby that just screams "it's not yours"? Well, worry no more, just stop at Rite-Aid and pick up a do-it-yourself DNA test.
Now you can buy a paternity test at any of 4,363 Rite Aid drugstores, thus exposing your suspicious mind or perhaps your cheating heart to the person on the other side of the counter.
The tests, marketed by Utah-based Identigene, employs a DNA fingerprinting technique similar to those used to solve crimes. They were introduced in Rite Aid stores on the West Coast last fall, and after 10,000 of them flew from the shelves, the company decided to market them in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and 27 other states, plus Washington, D.C.
For millennia, uncertainty over paternity has shaped sexual mores, allowing some men to escape the burden of child care and helping women cheat without detection. That's all changing now, as paternity DNA testing is easier than ever.
For up to $29.99 plus a $119 lab fee, customers can pick up a kit, scrape a few cells from the cheek of the child, mother and putative father, then send it to Identigene, where it's analyzed and sent back within three to five business days.

A simple Easter egg hunt turned into a melee when adults trampled children in an attempt to gather eggs with certificates for free xbox's, ipods, and gift certificates.
My friend, who lives on the Marine Corps base in Yuma, attended this event. She told me about how adults were grabbing up as many eggs as they could. She lost her 5yo son because of the chaos, but he was able to find his dad, Ssgt. Dragonslayer. This was supposed to be for kids, but adults without children joined the fray.
Here are some comments regarding this event.
I have a suggestion for next time have a rope for the parents not to pass when i read the flyers it said kids only. The parents were going out there with the kids 9-to-12yrs olds. Parents with strollers and were pushing there kids to the front on the line did not care if there were other people around they were pushing them to.If there were a boundery for parents the kids would have ran on there own after they were done it would be clear enough to see kids coming back to there parents it was just sad to see little kids lost crying for there parents i lost my kid because i listened and did not go out there with my kid that what i get for listening well maybe next year would be more safer
----------
My family and I attended this egg hunt, as did thousands of others. It was a wonderful thought the church had for the community and I would really like to thank them for their efforts, it's to bad greedy adults had to ruin it for the children.... The rules were, no one over the age of 12 was to be allowed in the roped off sections except for in the walking to 4 age group, they were allowed to have one parent help them if needed, but the parents were not to touch any eggs. After standing around for nearly two hours for the event to start it was over in minutes. About ten minutes before the event was to start people rushed the lines and headed out onto the fields. hundreds of adults could be seen out on the field as well, and not just in the baby section but in all of them, many were seen smashing and stomping the eggs in search of money and prizes, it's no wonder children were lost or separated from their parents in all the chaos, I'm surprised some of them were not injured as some of the adults bullied their way through the crowds pushing and shoving and knocking children to the ground. The children's who's parents respected the rules and stayed back had little to no chance of coming out of it with an egg. When it was over every direction you looked you could see groups of children standing around crying with empty baskets their parents trying to console them, several of the mom's I talked to were just as shocked as I at the behavior of some of the "grown up's" that were there. I had 3 children in the event myself a friend mine who was there had two, between our 5 children 4 of them came out of it with nothing. As the fields cleared you could see hundreds if not thousands of eggs smashed to pieces, their goodies trampled into the dirt and ruined, some of the littler children were seen trying to put some of the busted eggs back together just so they would have something to put into their baskets. It was really a sad thing to witness. I think for next years event they should plan things out a little better. I'm sure the church had no idea as to what type of Melee the thought of free money and prizes could cause. Maybe next year they can set up little corral type area for the kids to be in before the event starts, no parents allowed on the fields period. When its time to start they could open the gates and let them go, parents can line up outside of the fenced off areas for pictures and to cheer them on. They could even have some volunteers out on the fields to monitor the collection process and help guide the smaller children if needed. If the children don't want to be separated from the parents then maybe they need to wait until they are a little older. A little more planning and little more restraint on the parts of some parents can really make this an annual event the kids could enjoy. I hope what happened today doesn't discourage the church from trying it again, or people from attending future events.
---------
My family and I also went to the egg drop today. I just don't think they relized how horrible the parents were going to be. My husband took our 2yr old and I had our 5yr old. He said that he was amazed on watching the parents break the eggs just to see what was in them on the walking to 4yr old side. He also saw parents just dragging their little ones behind them so they could get the eggs, not the children. I thought that this was for the kids. It's rediculous on how some parents can act when someone says money and free prizes. Is this what Easter has finally come too? I was just holding my 4 month old son waiting for my 5yr old and was getting pushed by parents. I was a really sad thing to watch today.

The 4,000th service member was killed in Iraq today. I'm sure it will be nonstop blabbering for the next week and even more screeching for an Iraq pull-out.
We cannot let the lunatic fringe allow our troops to die in vain.
Just to prove a point, I'm following up with a Good News From The War On Terror post.

Coalition forces continued to target terrorist leaders in the Mosul area, capturing an alleged AQI leader for the network operating in East Mosul and one other suspect during operations.
A Coalition operation in northwest Iraq netted three suspected terrorists, including an individual who allegedly helps move al-Qaeda foreign terrorist fighters into Iraq. Further east, Coalition forces targeted a suspected AQI operative in the Hamrin Mountains region and detained two suspected terrorists.

Mike from Lamplighter News sent me a link today to a post at Charming, Just Charming, about Marine Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician who had a IED blow up on him while he was trying to disarm it. It's a sad story that really makes you appreciate the job our military is doing to ensure our freedoms. Here is an excerpt, but you really should read the whole thing.
I had the great fortune to be sitting at the same therapy table with him this morning and to talk with him as we both grimaced and grinned as the therapists worked us over..and the grins were the grin and bear it type..except he had a hell of a lot more to bear than I did.
When he teared up his face was red from embarrassment but he never uttered a sound..except to apologize to the therapist and tell her to continue..and then I looked at the face of the therapist and she was openly crying..and I could not stop my own tears while I watched them.
Yes, tears of pride..pride in this young man and the country that bred him. And tears of sorrow..sorrow that he is having to suffer while there are those who call themselves Americans who do not and probably cannot appreciate what this Marine has done. And yes, my tears were also from sympathy..for Sgt Joe and for the therapist who was only doing what she had to do.
Afterwards I talked some with Sgt Joe. He told me his motivation for doing what he has to do to regain the use of his arm..if he can do so he can remain on active duty.
"I am a Marine," he told me. " It is what I do."
I don't think there is any way we can thank them enough for their service.
***UPDATE***
If you want to leave Sgt. Joe some get well wishes or a thank you, leave a comment over there and GUYK will take them to him at therapy.

Is his pitiful attempt at excusing his pastors hate speech, Obama tries to tell the "people" they should move past judging him on his associations.
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Tuesday criticized his preacher's racially charged sermons but said he could not disown him in a speech urging Americans to move past their "racial stalemate."
Obama sought to quell a political firestorm ignited when news outlets called attention to sermons by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, which the Illinois senator attended for two decades.
"We have a choice in this country. We can accept a politics that breeds division, and conflict, and cynicism," he said. "Or, at this moment, in this election, we can come together and say, 'Not this time."
After hearing the bad reverend's sermons over and over again on the news, it made me realize that he sounds like an imam in a middle eastern mosque, or Dearborn-istan, Michigan.
