Today is part 2.
On Obama's super smear fighting website, it states:
Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.
However; Obama's half-brother seems to recall Obama being Muslim:
...if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background. In an interview with Army Radio he expressed a special salutation from the Obamas of Kenya
His sister also states that her whole family was Muslim
In an interview with the New York Times, published on April 30th, Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama's younger half sister, told the Times, "My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim."
Time to throw brother and sis under the bus.
The campaign even issued a statement to the LA Times stating, "Obama is not a practicing Muslim". That statement is quite different from the website. Apparently his books also give some insight to his time in Indonesia attending a Muslim school.
In a statement to The Times on Wednesday, March 14, the campaign offered this statement: "Obama has never been a practicing Muslim. The statement added that as a child, Obama had spent time in the neighborhood's Islamic center. This is a departure from the earlier statement made by the Obama campaign on January 24. "To be clear, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ in Chicago.
In Senator Obama's two books, "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope," he wrote that he spent two years in a Muslim school and another two years in a Catholic school while living in Indonesia from age 6 to 10. Islam is Indonesia's dominant religion. Approximately 88% of the population of Indonesia is Muslim, making it the most populous Muslim-majority nation in the world. Indonesia has seen a dramatic rise in radical Islam in recent years.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Obama would occasionally go to the mosque with this step-father.
Obama and his mother moved from Honolulu to Jakarta to join Soetoro in 1967, when Obama was 6. Here, Obama became "Barry Soetoro."
In their first neighborhood, Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said. But Soetoro usually was too busy working, first for the Indonesian army and later for a Western oil company.

Who is Barack Obama? Is he Christian or Muslim? Even his own campaign can't get the story right.
